Natasha and Brian engagement session

Natasha and Brian are one of our 2011 wedding couples. They spent Saturday out at Hemisphere Park and had tons of fun on their engagement session with David Constante (http://www.constantephoto.com/)

SAWEC staff photoshoot

Wednesday, we got the chance to get sit back and be the ones photographed. Michelle from McGreevy-Squier (www.mcgreevysquierphoto.com) our roommate/talented photographer took our new staff head shots. We are so excited that we not only got to take some pictures but used our waiting area as the background.

Freesia Designs (http://www.freesiadesigns.com/) gave us a beautiful floral arrangement for our special shoot. We love her creative designs for linens and floral.

Check out some photos from our fun afternoon...

Sharon and John

It feels like just the other day when I first met Sharon and John at the Wedding Fair. I have enjoyed helping them with their wedding details. This weekend it all came together... one of my favorite couples John and Sharon tied the knot at St. Padre Pio (off Bulverde Rd and 1604). On Friday we attended the rehearsal at the church then joined Sharon and John and immediate family at the Rehearsal Dinner at Amorcito's Mexican Restaurant (1604/Bitters).

Saturday morning was a beautiful day to celebrate their love. It was a traditional catholic ceremony performed by Father Ragsdale. Their families came from all over to join them on their special day. After the ceremony everyone headed to the Club at Sonterra to enjoy a delightful lunch reception. They were greeted with Mimosas and crab stuffed mushrooms/cashew and chicken spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce.

Jose from Allegretto Music provided the entertainment for the afternoon of soft jazz and upbeat r&b on the grand piano. I had the honor and pleasure of introducing the couple at the reception. There were the traditional bouquet and garter toss. Megan was the lucky lady to catch her mom's bouquet. The cake was a fabulous refreshing citrus cake from Cakes and more (http://www.cakesandmoreinsa.com/). Just the right amount of sweet to top off the meal. Since Jack is a cookie lover he opted for a four tier cookie tower instead of a groom's cake. Surprisingly, those were the first to go!

As there guests headed out Sharon and John thanked them and handed them their St. Genevieve Shiraz and Jalapeno Jack cheese party favors personally wrapped in navy toole with a silver bow. The kids got to enjoy Jordan almonds.
Sharon and John headed to the JW in their limo to continue the party and began their new life together. I know they will have a blast on their honeymoon in HAWAII!!!

We will have some pictures of their perfect day to share in the next few weeks...Stay tuned!

Erica's Bridal's

Today I got to see Alyssa www.makeupbyalyssa.blogspot.com/ work her hair and make-up magic on Erica to give her a romantic look for her bridal portraits. It was fun talking about some of final wedding details and getting to meet her mom. After the finishing touches, we went down to the Landa Library where the historic site made a scenic backdrop www.landagardens.com/. Erica was truly a vision as Kristen from Urth Studio www.urthstudiophotography.com/ did a fabulous job capturing timeless images of her. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Erica checking an incoming call as Alyssa styles her hair.

Making the eyes dramatic.

Kristen hard at work.

Flowers, flowers, flowers

Today, I spent the afternoon with Natasha and her friend Veronica touring the Botanical Gardens http://www.sabot.org/. An absolutely breath-taking venue perfect for a garden outdoor wedding. Please visit their website to check out some of the grounds. We were treated to lunch by our friend Holly from Anne Marie's Catering http://www.annemaries.com/. Anne Marie's does a fantastic job of running the Carriage House Bistro at the Botanical Gardens. On the weekends they serve special brunch with Sangria on Saturday and Mimosas on Sundays. Yummy...perfect for a girl's day out.

Finalized all the details for Sharon and John's wedding this weekend at Sonterra. Kelly and me are really excited to see these two tie the knot. But, I'm sure we will keep in touch. Please stay tuned for pictures from their special day...

Then, I spent the evening with Roque and Francine going over the floral design for Roque's elegant sophisticated fall wedding. Her colors are different shades of purple with touches of greenery. Adrianna from Floral Elegance http://www.safloralelegance.com/ helped us turn Roque's vision into a reality.

Here is a picture of the flowers (with invitation and fabric from bridesmaids dress) that will be used in her bouquet and throughout the reception.

Roque and Francine happy to see the design taking shape.

Brides Against Breast Cancer Event

It was a great weekend! There was a good turn out and we sold 24 dresses. Everyone had a great time tending to the brides and making them feel special as they searched through the huge selection of gowns. Among the volunteers were some two of our own brides, Audrie and Roque. Thank you to all of you who came out to help support this cause...we couldn't have done it without you!

So many dresses, so little time...

Fun trying on what could be "the one."
