Roque's makeup/hair trial

It was fantastic to see Roque and Francine again! Those two ladies are a bunch of fun. Alyssa from Makeup by Alyssa G did Roque's hair and makeup on Saturday. She is going for a whimsical romantic hair do with soft and elegant make up.

I'm looking forward to their September wedding at the JW. They are going to get married on the wedding lawn followed by a fabulous sit down dinner. The Grooves band is going to entertain the guests for the rest of the evening.

Quinceneras vs. Bridals

Today Melanie and I joined Pablo, the city coordinator for BABC, at the San Antonio Event Center for the Quinceneras vs. Bridals Expo to help promote our upcoming Brides Against Breast Cancer event this Saturday. With a good turn out there we are hopeful for this Saturday and Sunday.

We all got to sample some delicious cakes and food, see beautiful dresses, and had some great entertainment. The Kings of Kinces from JD Showtime Studio in Houston, TX (http://www.myspace.com/jdevolution) were especially impressive and held the crowd captive as they showcased their skills.

The Kings of Kinces from JD Showtime Studio draws in a large crowd.

A spokesperson from Azteca America (cable channel 9) stops by our booth to film a clip.

Old Navy Joins BABC!

Old Navy stores are showing their support by putting Brides Against Breast Cancer posters in all their San Antonio stores. They will also be donating $250/per store for any stores that send volunteers to the Charity Wedding Gown Sale.

Thank you Deidra Tidwell (store manager at South Park Mall) for making this possible!

SAWEC- TV appearance

It has been a great pleasure to be apart of the 2010 Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Gown Sale to benefit the Making Memories foundation (http://www.makingmemories.org/ and http://www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.org/)! We have teamed up with Bisli Events and San Antonio Wedding Guide to make this event a success. SAWEC is the volunteer coordinator for this event...we have been recruiting/scheduling volunteers and are going to be at the weekend event ensuring everything goes smooth.

Yesterday, we had the chance to be on FOX TV to promote the wonderful event. We talked about what the sale is all about and who it benefits from it. One of our favorite vendors Tammy Cohen (owner of TLC invitations- http://www.tlcinvitations.com/) has donated a beautiful Ines De Santos wedding gown to be sold. I want to send a special thanks to her for the gracious donation made in honor of her grandmother.

Van from Bridal Perfect- http://www.bridalperfectfit.com/ donated the mannequin to display the gown. Thanks Van! She will also be the volunteer seamstress to assist the brides in their search for the perfect gown. Some will want to know what type of alterations can be made and what are the different possibilities.

Please tune into KABB cable channel 11 (regular 29) on this Saturday, July 24th at 5:30am to Focus on South Texas to see our segment on the Brides Against Breast Cancer.

For more information about the sale... scroll down to "Brides Against Breast Cancer" on our blog.

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please email me at melanie@saweddingconsultant.com

The San Antonio Wedding Magazine is here!!!

The new issue of San Antonio Wedding magazine has just arrived! SAWEC's newly married couple Angela and Josh's wedding was featured in the magazine. Their April 3rd fall themed celebration took place at the newly built JW Marriott on TPC parkway (www.jwsanantonio.com). We helped create Angela's vision of a warm fall feeling atompshere with a hint of sparkle.

August Weddings

With August around the corner, Sharon and John's elegant daytime wedding is quickly approaching. We are finalizing all the details from their Mini St. Genevine Shiraz and Jalapeno Jack gourmet style cheese favors to the final design of the programs which Sharon's talented future son-in-law is custom designing.

The ceremony will be taking place at the St. Padre Pio Catholic church and the guests will make their way over to the Club at Sonterra to join them for mimosas and light hor dorvers followed by a beautifully catered meal. The wedding cake is going to be the "top off the wedding" a light and tasty signature citrus cake by Cakes and More.

I can't wait for their bubble send off...check back for photos from their perfect day!

Tracy and Jose's big day!!!

Photos are courtesy of Alamo Photographic (www.alamophotographic.com) Vladimir captured their perfect day in wonderful photos.

They celebrated their marriage at the Travis Park United Methodist Church. Guests walked across the street to the St. Anthony Historic Hotel.

Tracy and Jose had their first dance on clouds. DJ Ray from Music Flo Inc/San Antonio's Best DJ (www.musicfloinc.com) is one of the only to offer this beautiful experience.

The cake was absolutely delicious...Elms Bakery did a fantastic job with the wedding and groom's cake. They did a heart shaped cake with a replica of Jose's army uniform with his ribbons and exact boutonniere he wore on the wedding day.

I'm really gonna miss these two! Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Leon!
