April Weddings and More

This weekend we have been getting ready for our April weddings at the JW Marriott...

Audrie and Troy
They have been working out SUPER intense to get in great shape for their approaching April 9th wedding. We think they look GREAT! They are famous...they will be featured in an article in the San Antonio Wedding Magazine on Movie Posters. Just call them "Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez (Smith)" We met Audrie's parents and them on Friday at the JW Marriott to go over floral/linens and food tasting. Chef Bret prepared some delicious choices for everyone to sample and choose from.
We showcased linens from BBJ linens and silver chiavari chairs from Chic Accents. They are getting married downtown at the beautiful San Fernando Cathedral, then the guests will enjoy cocktails at the JW and get ready for the dinner and dance.

Angela and Josh sporting their favorite teams! I'm on Team Angela.

Today, Angela started the day with a make-up trial with Yvette. Then, they were off to shoot their engagement session with Michelle from McGreevy-Squier. Check out her blog for some of her favorite pictures from today... www.mcgreevysquierphoto.com/blog/
Their last stop was the JW Marriott where we met them for the linen/food tasting and Candy Couture mock-up.

Both couples have decided to go with a duo on the entree. The signature filet mignon accompanied by a wonderful sea bass filet. The guests will DEFINITELY be impressed with the dinner and service at the JW.

We ended the weekend celebrating with Roque and Daniel as they announced their engagement to their family and friends. Francine did a great job of their "Fiesta" themed party with margaritas and pinatas.

Special thanks to... Matthew (BBJ linen), Steven (Chic Accents), Melody (JW Marriott), and Chef Bret!!! You guys are the best!

Here are some pictures

One of Preferred Vendors... Candy Couture did a mock-up for Angela and Josh giving them an idea of how fun and unique a candy station can be. For more information on her spectacular Candy Lounge design fully stocked with your favorite treats please email Rachel at candycouturesa@gmail.com

Christine & Joseph

Welcome Christine and Joseph to the SAWEC family.

We are off to a great start with the planning of their October ceremony to be held at Canyon Springs Golf Club with a cascading waterfall as the back drop. February has been a very busy month. The ceremony/reception venue has been selected, floral has been designed by Eloise at Seeds of Love, Groove City is going to rock at the reception, and Once Upon a Time Photography has been chosen to catch every special moment on film. Christine and Joseph want to create a moment in time they will never forget and give their guests a night to remember too.

Nicole and David had a number of out of town guest that they wanted to show a good time. They did just that with passed champagne rooftop before the ceremony. The ceremony was followed by cocktail out in the famous Peacock Ally, where an amazing vocalist, Tina, played the piano and sang accompanied by her equally talented son.

George West...lovely town

Burrrrrr today was very chilly. We (Teresa and me) drove down to George West to meet with one of our beautiful brides Taylor and her wonderful mother Jamye. Aztec Rentals met us at the Majestic Oaks to go over the different layouts we can use for the wedding. This is so exciting and I'm really starting to paint the picture of Taylor and Cameron's summer wedding in my mind.

I have to say this city girl is REALLY starting to like this small town. Everyone is sooooo nice! We had lunch a local restaurant that was full of happy patrons. Saying hello is just a friendly habit that everyone has and holding doors is tradition.

I do have to say I always feel at home there. :) Next week, we will be off to the food tastings

I haven't had the chance to introduce you my friend, "Don-key".

This week...

This week has flown by...all the weddings are definitely keeping busy.

We met with Theresa to go over decor at the Weston Centre where she will having her dream wedding. We are off to Austin tomorrow on a dress mission. We are visiting one of our favorite dress shops Alexia Gavela www.agbride.com . Jerry the owner/dress consultant is an angel and has helped some of our brides find their perfect dress.

Looks like we have a good candidate for their photographer. Theresa and Rich want someone to tell the story of their beautiful day as it unfolds.

Rio Plaza-Theresa and Rich

Today, was a beautiful day to make our way down to the Rio Plaza and have lunch at Rita's on the River. www.ritasontheriver.com

Theresa, Richard, and Richard/Pat (Richard's parents) met me at Rita's to have lunch and discuss the rehearsal dinner. His parents were wonderful and they can't wait to see Richard and Theresa spend the rest of their lives together. I can definitely tell where Rich gets his sweetness and down to earth personality from.

The food was what you picture good ole' San Antonio traditional Tex-Mex food. We sampled chicken and cheese quesdillas, jalpaneo popper, chile con queso...yummy. Entrees we tried the cheese enchiladas, and their sizzling hot and juicy chicken and beef fajitas. Can you believe we saved room for dessert? They serve a variety of tasty desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth. Our favorite was the...fried ice cream served in a cinnamon bunelo with chocolate drizzled on the top!!! They are going to make mini versions for the dinner rehearsal...too cute.

I want send a special THANKS to Traci Burton, Sales Manager of Rita's (BEST service EVER). She has perfected her skills as a sales manager, event coordinator, jill of all trades, has all the answers to any questions you could possibly think of.

Taylor and Cameron

Love was definitely in the air... Yesterday, we met Taylor, Cameron, and mom (Jamye) at Elms Bakery to taste their delicious homemade vanilla cake with buttercream icings. Cameron was excited and SUPRISED to find out his groom's cake was going to be 3-D greyhound! They are the sweetest couple...totally down to earth.
Then, we were off to Seeds of Love to go over Floral. Taylor is so classic and is going to absolutely breath-taking with her beautiful gown and white cascading bouquet.
This is going to be a romantic fairy-tale wedding to remember!
